Bike to the Berbers
This ride through the villages and Kasbahs of the Atlas and Anti Atlas is a fantastic journey out of the summer months when this whole region is scorching hot. We drive across the Atlas Mountains and the Tichka pass. Our route starts in Ourzazat city and quickly takes us through Berber villages where we will meet and stay with the different tribes have lived here for millennia. We ride the volcanic ridge of Saghro and pass through the beautiful and lush Draa valley. Onwards and we find ourselves in really remote mountain valleys. We ride into oasis, through almond groves and some incredible gorges. This stress free and moderate ride is a perfect to way to discover a new and unaffected side of the Atlas, the Ante Atlas and Southern Morocco.
Brief Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive Marrakech
You will be met by your guide and leader and transferred to our centrally located Hotel, in the Medina. Our Land Only package begins with an evening meal in a restaurant nearby.

Day 2
Ourzazate - Tifratine
The first morning starts with breakfast then a drive into the Atlas Mountains and over to Ourzazat city. Our ride starts through the palm and olive groves to join our gite in a mud red village tucked into the mountains. Our cozy gite is a family run business.

Day 3
N'Kob - Tagdilt
Today’s ride we head out into the Djebel Saghro following a lovely rusty red, dust trail towards the Anti Atlas. As we approach the mountains, a green oasis filled with almond groves and henna plants carpet the valley floor. That afternoon we climb out of the valley, where there are beautiful views to the north. We head back down again for a steady downhill to join our gite in the next village.
Day 4
Tagdilt - M'semrir
A leisurely start today with a short transfer to the Todgha Gorge. From here we start biking, on a newly paved road. Our path takes us through a variety of different and changing landscapes; where we discover nomadic families that tend to large herds of goats, we have an amazing descent to tonight’s village and our family gite.

Day 5
M'semrir - BotaGhrar
This morning we set off along lush green valleys, spectacular deep gorges and dramatic rock formations. We pass impressive ancient Kasbahs encircled by almond and fig trees. We cycle the last 15kms through the red sand mountains to arrive at an old Berber riad.

Day 6
BotaGhrar - Ait Benhaddou
A great day in the rose valley as we pass through many villages typical to this rich landscape. We follow an easy track to arrive amongst palms and olives and then transfer to Ourzazat, where will visit the main Kasbah, and the Hollywood’s cinema land. Tonight we are staying in a traditional gite in the village.

Day 7
Ait Benhaddou - Telouet - Marrakech
We will bike along the traditional route of the caravan de sel. We pass through villages, through olive groves, pomegranate and pear orchards. We stop for lunch, then transfer in the afternoon to Marrakech and back to our Medina Hotel to wrap up the bikes and prepare for our farewell supper.
