Traverse the Andes

The southern Andes of Chilean are remote and a seriously long way from home! This Mountain bike tour is put together to be a part of the complete Chilean experience. It is classic backcountry, expedition style, biking through the Chilean mountains, from the coastal foothills of Santiago, then over the high passes and back down into Argentina. Challenging and wild; this unique tour is supported by vehicle and a small team. We have to be completely self-sufficient as we travel deeper into the countryside and cross over the remote passes of the southern Andes. Our route is along dirt roads and mountain trails, from Chile to Argentina via the Paso Icalma and the Paso Mamuil Malal.

Brief Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1
Meeting with the team in Temuco - Ride to China Muerta.


Day 2
Ride from China Muerta to Carilafquen Valley - Sollipulli volcano.


Day 3
Crossing Senderos de Montana until the border passing Icalma and Villa Pehuenia.


Day 4
Interior section in the Argentinian Mapuche Indian Reservation to Ricón de Aluminé.


Day 5
Ricón Aluminé to Curarrehue. Passing by Mamuil Malal.


Day 6
Curarrehue to Coñaripe by Villarrica Park. Farewell party.


Day 7
Final transfer back to Temuco.


Day 8
Way back to Santiago (or taking the connecting flight to the next booked trip).
