Tour Du Mont Blanc
This is an excellent and challenging mountain bike route that combines big climbs, technical descents, spectacular scenery and charming accommodation in high Alps. We start from our chalet base in the Chamonix Valley. 5 days of riding to circumnavigate the awesome Alpine range of Mont Blanc. We leave with the assistance of a cable car ride to the Col du Balme, and then it’s a fast single-track descent to Trient, followed by another superb descent into Switzerland from the Col du Forclaz. We continue via Champex du Lac and the Col Ferret into Italy, traversing Alpine meadows and climbing a succession of high passes that reveal breathtaking and ever-changing perspectives of the Mont Blanc Massif. Returning into France via the Col du Joly.
Brief Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive Argentiere, above Chamonix.
Day 2
Bike to Le Tour. We take the gondola and chairlift to the Col du Balme from here we make our descent to the trient and then ascend up to the col du forclaz. where we stop for the night
Day 3
Climb to the col Du Ferret(2530m), then descend into Italy and the Val Ferret. Our day finishes at the mountain gite in Val Veny.
Day 4
Our morning is spent climbing to the Col du seigne (2512m), followed by epic descent and another climb to Cormet du Rosalend and then onto our overnight gite.
Day 5
We start our day with a classic alpine switchback climb. then an undulating singletrack for lunch at the Col du Joly. Awesome singletrack down to St Gervais then jump onto the Mont Blanc tramwayto pass over into les Houche and the climb back to Chamonix.
Day 6
Ride the incredible Chamonix trails.A rest afternoon to shop and sightsee.
Day 7
Transfer to airport for international flights.
